Lenny rolls out songs and techniques in an easy going tour of the world of ukulele. You'll be jamming right from the start, and by the end of the journey you'll have strums, riffs and songs that you can take with you wherever you go!
This course is intended for beginners and intermediate students who want to cover the ins and outs of playing the ukulele. You can choose either the beginner track or the intermediate track when you register.
You're getting comfortable with practicing the basic chords (C, F, Am, G, G7), learning strum patterns and how to sing and play at the same time.
Do you want to challenge yourself with more complex strum patterns, chords, and chord melody? This class will give you plenty to explore.

Lenny San Jose
Lenny, aka Ukulenny, is an ukulele performer and educator based in Oakland, CA. He received his training at UC Berkeley (B.A. in Music) and earned his teaching credential at Cal State East Bay. After teaching music in public schools for 5 years, he made the leap to becoming a full-time musician, performing and leading workshops. An avid multi-instrumentalist, Lenny grew up playing piano and writing songs on his guitar. He played cello in the high school orchestra and saxophone in the Cal Band.
In 2009 he fell in love with the ukulele and found it to be the easiest and most fulfilling instrument to teach. He appreciated that it was a very sociable instrument that didn’t take itself too seriously, and that people enjoyed playing the ukulele in large groups.
He started his ukulele career on the BART train and eventually was leading commenters in song. His YouTube channel has since gained over 75,000 subscribers and 9.9 million views. A sponsored Kala Artist, he spearheaded the Learn to Play Program on Kala’s website and app, and continues to preach the ukulele gospel nationwide.
