In this 4 week journey, we will be exploring elements related to poetry. This journey will focus on the foundations of poetry, along with gaining an understanding on how poetry primarily gives us the creative freedom to express our thoughts in any shape or form.
Each class will focus on a specific topic, such as imagery and dialogue, that will guide you in creating poems that truly speak to your voice. We will also have opportunities to freely write and share our poems in this safe space. Additionally, you will be assigned low stakes, daily writing assignments to help you prepare for our final class, where we will share together our own small collections of poems.
If you want to give poetry a try but aren't sure where to start, this journey is for you! You will be guided to create a daily writing habit for yourself.

"Yumi opened up for me a whole new perspective on poetry and how it's performed. She's passionate about what she teaches and let's you digest the information in your own way and on your own time. She inspires you to express yourself and learn from others as well." - V , Nov 2020, Beginner Poetry Class
