DANCE: Connect with your body's natural rhythms and let the beat of the music guide you. Join us for a five week series to learn how to properly warm up your body for dance, memorize choreography, stretch the muscles after moving, and perform for yourself! We have all redefined what it means to be home, to work remotely, to rest, and to nourish ourselves. Together, we will create space (whether in-studio or comfortable at home) to move our bodies, work up a sweat, and release the tension we hold in our jaws, necks, shoulders, and hips.

We'll end this series with a finale to come together and perform what we learned, taking place during the last class. For those in the Bay Area, we'll meet in person at The Dance Floor studio in Albany, CA.

We know how difficult it can be for moms to arrange childcare, which is why kids 6+ are welcome to attend for free!

This is a hybrid course offering the energy of two in-person weekend sessions with the convenience of online Zoom sessions mid week.

Optional in person events will take place at Giti's The Dance Floor studio at 1501B Solano Avenue, Albany, CA 94706

Giti Morris

Giti has been teaching dance for 15 years. Her journey began in the DIY garage dance studio of her Bharatanatyam teacher in Miami, where she learned foundational techniques of classical South Asian dance. She continued dancing while studying urban planning and architecture in New York City, expanding into various fusion dance styles. She moved to the Bay Area in 2010 and began teaching weekly dance classes that integrated choreography and fitness. She also mentored others who were finding their personal style and voice as an instructor. Giti recently opened her own dance studio to continue her mission of building community through the power and joy of movement.
